Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 21, 2026
Sage Companion ("Sage," "we," "us") builds voice-first AI assistants for aging parents and busy households. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We designed Sage to be privacy-first.
Information we collect
- Account information — name, email, and login credentials for you and family members you invite.
- What you tell Sage — messages and voice you send, plus the details Sage helps you manage: for Seniors, things like medications, appointments, and doctor-visit notes; for Home, things like meals, groceries, calendars, and kids' activities.
- Connected services — if you link Google or Apple calendars, the calendar data needed to sync events.
- Usage and device data — basic logs, device type, and diagnostics used to run and improve the service.
How we use your information
- To provide Sage's features — reminders, planning, summaries, the family dashboard, and voice interaction.
- To keep your account secure and prevent abuse.
- To communicate with you about your account, and — only if you opt in — product tips and updates.
- To improve reliability and quality of the service.
Service providers we share with
We share the minimum necessary data with vendors that process it on our behalf, under contract, to run the service. These currently include AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI) to generate responses, cloud hosting and database (Render, Supabase), payments (Stripe), email delivery (Resend), and calendar sync (Google, Apple). We do not permit them to use your information for their own purposes, and we never sell your information to anyone.
How we protect your data
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, sensitive tokens are encrypted at the application layer, and access is restricted to what's needed to operate Sage. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your family's information and to limit what we collect in the first place.
Google user data and Google API Services
If you connect Google Calendar, Sage requests only the calendar.events permission — the access needed to view and manage events on the calendars you connect. We do not access your Gmail, contacts, Drive files, or any other Google data. We use Google Calendar data solely to show your upcoming appointments, add or update events you create in Sage, and generate reminders about them.
Limited Use: Sage Companion's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use, transfer, or sell Google Workspace user data — raw, aggregated, or derived — to create, train, or improve foundational or generalized machine learning or artificial intelligence models, and we do not transfer such data to any third party for that purpose. Any AI processing is limited to providing the user-facing features described above. You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from your account settings or at myaccount.google.com/permissions, which revokes our access and deletes the stored authorization.
Your choices and rights
- Access, correct, or delete your account information — email us and we'll help.
- Control who in your family has access, and revoke access at any time.
- Opt out of non-essential emails at any time.
Health information
Sage for Seniors can store information like medications and appointments to help families. Sage is a consumer product, not a medical provider, and is not a substitute for professional medical care or an emergency service.
Children
Sage is intended for adults. Sage for Home lets parents record their own children's schedules and activities; those details are controlled by the adult account holder. Sage is not directed to children for their own use.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. We'll revise the "last updated" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice.
